What Is the Opportunity?

Travelers are recruiting for a Senior Syndicate Operations Associate to join our team based in London.

As a Senior Syndicate Operations Associate, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our Underwriters and wider teams. Your expertise in London Market Underwriting or Operations will be instrumental in driving our success. This role is designed for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to tackle complex challenges, give input on projects, and contribute to our continuous growth.

Travelers Europe currently offers flexibility to employees who wish to work on a hybrid basis in accordance with our Hybrid Work Arrangements Policy. This entails full time employees working three days a week in the office and two days at home (or pro rata for part-time employees). This policy may be changed at the Company’s discretion.

This role is eligible for a £1500 new joiner bonus. If you are successfully referred by an employee at Travelers Europe, both you and the person who referred you could be eligible for this bonus.

What Will You Do?

  • Perform the data enrichment, importation and geocoding of location level risk data (Schedules of Values and Bordereaux), plus the data input of additional risk information required by Sequel Impact (where necessary to enable RMS modelling).
  • Analyse and monitor receipts for Schedules of Values and Bordereaux. Perform exposure data capture (including data manipulation, cleansing, enrichment and input).
  • Prepare underwriting/pricing exhibits in Benchmark Pricing (BMP) Tool for Underwriting loading pre bind.
  • Support Underwriters with their renewal portfolio and collaborate with catastrophe risk modelling and other departments to ensure administrative tasks are carried out effectively.
  • Complete Front Sheets in preparation for Risk Entry and preparation of Null Decs in advance of offshore entry.
  • Assist with the completion of reports for GAAP, RDS, Pre Integrity and Housekeeping, LEMP meetings, BRP meetings. The report need to adhere to statutory and regulatory internal and external reporting deadlines.
  • Work towards dummy and actual month end close and aggregate 'Roll Up,' ensuring all signings and aggregate entries are completed. Any issues should be referred to a manager.
  • Support the delivery of training to the Offshore team and support the completion of any updates required for the Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Respond to queries from offshore operations in a timely fashion.
  • Perform quality assurance of work conducted by on and offshore team members, in particular BMP and Aggregate completion.
  • You will need to achieve or exceed agreed timeliness and accuracy service level agreements within the Syndicate as outlined within the European Operation’s Service Agreement document.
  • As an employee you are expected to act in an ethical manner at all times. You will ensure you understand all compliance and regulatory requirements for your role by completing all necessary training and certifications.
  • As an employee we expect your actions and outcomes will at all times meet local regulatory and supervisory approaches to ensure fair treatment of our customers. You will ensure you keep adequate records of all transactions undertaken with customers, brokers and all other parties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • You will likely have a working knowledge of systems change and project processes and a general knowledge of underwriting, claims and reinsurance processes.
  • You are detail focused and able to maintain a high degree of accuracy in your work.
  • You should have sufficient knowledge and skill to be able to use computers and be comfortable working with a range of applications.
  • You will likely be highly motivated and can work independently but are also comfortable working in a team environment.
  • You should have a good degree of numeracy to be able to understand and work with numbers.
  • Preferably you will have completed your Certificate CII.

What is a Must Have?

  • You will have been educated to GCSE level standard or equivalent and have previously worked in a similar role in the insurance industry.
