Job Description:

We’re currently recruiting for a Training Quality Assurance and Configuration Manager to work within our Capability, Proposals and Cost Analysis department which is an integral part of our Training Operations (UK) function based in our Helicopter Training Academy in Yeovil. As the Training Quality Assurance and Configuration Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of configuration and quality management across Training operations (UK), ensuring alignment between the respective aircraft programmes and training products and services.

Please note that this role is a JFF Level 7 (Business Support.)

What you’ll be doing as the Training Quality Assurance and Configuration Manager;

Configuration Management

  • Attend and represent Training UK Operations at all Configuration Change Board (CCB) and all Change Implementation Board (CIB) meetings
  • Provide support to training the Integrated Product Team (IPT) with respect to Configuration Management
  • Analysis of Change Requests (CR) and assess training impact for all AW159/Wildcat/SL300 and AW101 variants
  • Working knowledge of customer MF 760s (MoD Narrative Fault Reporting) and assess any subsequent training impact
  • Managing Change Requests (CRs) via SAP workflow
  • Managing the outcomes and integration into overall training project requirements, with dependencies to other functions identified
  • Ensure Training Configuration Management aligns to internal company processes and standards
  • Leading configuration management initiatives to achieve on time delivery
  • Lead business improvement initiatives to drive business development through configuration management

Quality Assurance

  • Manage the UK Functional Manual, ensuring process models and improvements are up to date and effectively deployed in each department
  • Manage the UK Departmental Procedures Review Programme (DPR), assessing and ensuring preventive actions are completed and the Leonardo Helicopters Operating System is updated with to the latest procedural version
  • Training colleagues from the Quality Assurance department and the Customer Support and Training (CS&T) function’s Governance team
  • Reading, interpreting and disseminating information, specifically updated procedural documents, from Governance and the QA department to relevant stakeholders within the Training Department, ensuring any consequence on Training’s operation is understood and actioned appropriately
  • Training’s principal audit contact; both for internal and external audits
  • Monitor, manage and report on all Non Conformance (NC) raised on the Training department and liaise with the Quality department and NC owners as necessary
  • Represent Training Department at the monthly Level 1 Quality/NC review meeting, ensuring all requested data is supplied and feeding back relevant information and actions as required

What we need from you;

  • Knowledge of configuration management process
  • Understanding of quality assurance process
  • Previous experience of audit process
  • Understanding of customer (MoD Narrative Fault Reporting) MF 760 process
  • Ideally a knowledge of the Company Operating System, Company Policies, Company Procedures
  • Computer literate in the following IT systems; SAP, Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel and Project
  • At least 5 years’ experience relevant to the helicopter industry or in a military helicopter environment
  • Strong understanding of engineering
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation and motivational skills
  • Ability to innovate and drive Continuous Improvement
