Overview of Role

66degrees is looking for creative, dedicated, and personable technology business professionals for a Cloud Engineering position. As a key contributor to the Infrastructure practice, you will be responsible for delivery technical solutions for our clients. Your day to day tasks could range from writing terraform scripts to researching storage optimization for SAP deployments. A distinct component of this position will be tailoring infrastructure on the Google Cloud Platform to a clientโ€™s specific needs. We take pride in our solution delivery.

Responsibilities

As a GCP Cloud Engineer at 66degrees, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of cloud services, optimize performance, and enhance the overall reliability of our systems.

  • Design, deploy, and maintain scalable and secure cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Develop infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment of applications and services.
  • Configure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
  • Manage and optimize cloud costs to ensure clients get the most value out of their GCP investment.
  • Troubleshoot issues with client deployments.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to understand user requirements and provide technical solutions.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, preferably with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Bilingual - Spanish/English is a requirement of this role
  • In-depth knowledge of GCP services, including Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, BigQuery, and others.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or PowerShell.
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Strong understanding of networking principles, security best practices, and cloud architecture patterns.
  • Linux and Windows administration experience
  • Experience with networking, VMs, firewalls, and virtualized environments
  • Writing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
  • Relevant certifications, such as Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or Professional DevOps Engineer, are a plus.
