At the heart of the strategy of a fast growing top semiconductor company, you will join the core technical team of our NFC R&D organization. You will be a key contributor to NXPโs success to sustain our worldwide market leader position for the NFC technology through continuous technical innovation outpacing our competition.
Within Security and Connectivity group, the NFC Firmware team is at the heart of NXP leadership in the NFC mobile market. Our Firmware solution is present in most devices of all key Mobile phones vendors. Our team is also involved in the development of other wireless communication standards like UWB. Our team is located in various countries and as architect your contributing developers will be located in various countries.
Your responsibilities :
As a Firmware architect you will be the primary technical interface for cross functional teams, which involves daily interaction and collaboration with various teams located all over the world (mainly US, India, Austria & France) and with various core competences (HW digital, HW analog, MW, RF, System, ATE, Customer support).
You will coach technically junior NFC FW development team members.
You will evolve in a dynamic & engaging work environment where you will propose technical solutions to address the requests from our customers an improve our NFC components.
In addition of these core responsibilities you will particularly have to:
- Analyze NXP business or customer requirements & assess their impact on our NFC firmware.
- Define optimum architecture and high level firmware implementation to fulfill them.
- Participate with Hardware and system teams to the system & hardware architecture definition
- Provide technical guidelines to the firmware developers during design, implementation and debug phases.
- Guarantee the quality of our FW deliveries by defining/reviewing test specifications, performing code & test code reviews
- Drive critical debug activities / formulate root cause hypothesis and propose ways to verify them / report progress to the customer support team and to the management team
- Write and /or review technical documents such as FW requirement specification, FW architecture design and FW module design specification
Your profile
To be successful in this role you have:
- Master/PhD degree in Electronic or Embedded software.
- 15+ years of experience in low level embedded software development with experience in specifications for other firmware developers.
- Deep understanding of microcontrollers architectures and real time operating systems.
- Advanced C programming skills
- Strong analytical & troubleshooting skills
- Experience with embedded software architecture definition
- Experience with at least one wireless communication standard such as NFC, BlueTooth, Wifi, 3GPP, UWB โฆ
- Full fluency in English language both oral and written.
Furthermore, following skills are a plus:
- Experience with Pre-tape out validation environment (FGPA, RTL simulation)
- Good understanding of HW digital design (register description, datasheet)
- Knowledge on radio transceivers fundamentals.
- Experience with customer exposure ideally during design-in phase.
- Ability to organize & coordinate a technical team.
- Wireless charging technologies
- Ready to travel outside Europe several weeks per year
