We now have an opportunity for three Design Managers to join our team. We are open to considering applicants at the middle stage of their career and also those with decades of experience. The Senior Design Manager and Lead Design Manager will be a multi-disciplinary leader, overseeing technical teams to deliver consistent, value-for-money and accurate technical information and outputs across clients in the water sector.

Here are the key things you will do to ‘bring ideas to life’.

  • Maintain an unwavering commitment to the physical and mental health and safety of all team members
  • Ensure that your design work and teams’ activities blend harmoniously with the environment we are operating in
  • Deliver superior, fit-for-purpose engineering designs that exceeds client expectations and remain within allocated budget and technical parameters
  • Clearly articulate the cost, risk and schedule impact of design solutions to your stakeholders to support informed decision making and a sustainable asset base
  • Partner effectively across technical and non-technical groups on the delivery of design matters
  • Lead and mentor emerging team members to ensure technical expertise is passed through the organisation to build a sustainable pool of internal talent to be our future leaders

What We Are Looking For

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills so that you can effectively influence decision makers and those outside of you direct span of control
  • Extensive Project Management and/or Design Management skills in cost, schedule, risk and change management
  • Experience in engineering design, design review and the development and review of infrastructure standards
  • Advanced analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to assess, evaluate and solve problems
  • The ability to inspire and lead teams, driving high performance in a challenging business and market environment
  • Ability to identify and implement innovative solutions to improve design efficiency and project delivery which has a positive commercial and environmental impact
  • Experience in the preparation of professional reports and technical writing
