The Solution Architect – Applications is a pivotal technical lead architect role, responsible for guiding Application technology outcomes. This role collaborates with project teams, operations teams, and various business stakeholders to drive the outcomes for the Applications squad and wider Aurecon business. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the long-term network Applications strategy for Aurecon, working closely with the Domain Architect – Integrated Delivery Platforms to develop this strategy and provide technical guidance to the team. This role is responsible for executing the Applications road map to achieve project and strategic outcomes for Aurecon.

Here are the key things you’ll do to bring ideas to life:

• Architect a well-integrated multi-platform landscape by designing optimal solutions in relation to functional and non-functional requirements and combining domain-specific solutions and contributions from internal and external solution designers
• Ensure that solutions complement technologies defined on strategic roadmaps and align with existing design and architecture principles and standards
• Focus on architectural decisions and analysis of their impact on the existing IT environment while avoiding unnecessary technical debt
• Produce high-level and detailed solution architecture artefacts and achieve their endorsement through the architecture review process
• Ensure that the endorsed design is adhered to during implementation and build, and that there is no deviation by delivery teams or vendors
• Escalate any barriers dependencies and risks with current or planned technical solutions and collaborate to mitigate those
• Participate in RFI/RFP processes, especially in the evaluation of products/technical solutions.

With experience in a similar Solution Architect role, you will bring the following:

• A relevant qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or similar
• Extensive experience working in multiple IT areas in large and complex organisations, as well as working with geographically dispersed teams and time zones
• Strong business acumen with the ability to understand and anticipate business needs in order to design appropriate technical solutions
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms and services, particularly in designing and deploying cloud-native solutions based on Microsoft technologies (Azure, Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365, and Power Platform, for example)
• Considerable experience in application and data integration, including enterprise iPaaS, API management, ETL/ELT, etc.
• Understanding and experience with DevOps and CI/CD practices and tools
• Solid understanding of security best practices, especially within identity and access management, and sensitive data protection
• Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills; strong communication and influencing skills; ability to convey technical and business information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
