Technopolis is offering a 5-6 months paid internship at our Brussels office, starting from September 2024.
We seek to appoint an enthusiastic intern to gain first-hand insights in a range of science & technology policies and get a thorough introduction to various social sciences methodologies.

Recently finalised university education (master) or a student currently in the last year of a Master programme, preferably in either economics, science and technology policy, or other social sciences;

Interest in the new developments in European Commission policies, in particular in science, technology and innovation;

Excellent communication skills in English;

Acquainted with qualitative research methods (e.g. literature review, desk research, interviews, case studies, surveys) and basic quantitative methods ;

Proficiency in Excel, Word and Power Point;
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a team;

Willingness to learn about new topics and methods, and gain new skills. The following will be considered as a plus:

Proficiency in other languages;

Relevant skills for data treatment & analysis, coding (e.g. Python, R) and/or the use of specific software(e.g. PowerBI, Atlas.ti etc.).
Typical tasks in your internship may include:

Conduct desk research on a specific topic,
-
Support for qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis;

Assist in literature reviews;
-
Support in developing and implementing surveys;
-
Conduct interviews with various stakeholders (industry, agencies, public sector, etc.);

Support of drafting case studies;
-
Support in drafting analytical summaries;

Contribute to the organisation of workshops and working groups, both online and on-site. The intern will be predominantly working with the project management team on a project on the European Research Area but will also be able to get insights in other projects/tasks (e.g the European innovation policy platform, the European research infrastructures landscape, etc)
The successful candidate will work as a paid intern in our Brussels office. The role provides the opportunity to gain experience in working at the forefront of European policy making, to develop analytical skills, and to experience a multinational, friendly businesses environment.
