Lead Rendering Engineer

Cloud Chamber is seeking a veteran Lead Rendering Engineer to manage the team of Rendering Engineers and push Unreal Engine 5 towards the combined vision of the studio. The role involves modifying core shaders, developing new rendering technologies, integrating third-party solutions, and creating new systems for world and character rendering in the world of BioShock. The Lead Rendering Engineer will collaborate closely with concept artists, Art Directors, and other engineers to achieve holistic artistic visions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years industry experience shipping multiple AAA Unreal Engine console and PC games.
• Experience in a lead role and as a graphics / rendering engineer.
• Strong 3D Math skills.
• Strong C/C++ experience.
• Familiarity with modern GPUs, Unreal Engine 4 or 5, and third-party tools like Houdini, Substance Painter, and Z-Brush.
• Ability to research, analyze, and optimize code to meet performance requirements.
• Proven organizational and leadership skills with a focus on collaboration and open communication.
• Ability to express technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Highly detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and adaptable to change in a fast-growing organization.
