Department Overview

Control Room Solutions (CRS) provides the backbone for emergency response in the UK & Europe. Our applications help 999 operators respond to inputs from the public and dispatch out nearby responders, enabling the right response when every second counts.

Our team has grown from a small startup to the leading product suite for Fire & Police agencies in the course of several years. We are shaping the future of public safety, transforming command centres with advanced technology, delivered as software as a service. Job Description

Homebased with frequent travel to customer sites.

You will take technical ownership of the assigned CRS deployments, both current and in the future. Working closely with the Project Owner or Project Manager, the you will own the technical aspects of the configuration of a CRS system to a number of strategic customers to ensure a successful project delivery.

Dimensions/Scope:
Reports to Head of CRS Technical Operations and works closely with the Team Leader. Full Time, Home Worker, with frequent travel to customer locations.

Key responsibilities of the role:

• Technical ownership for the deployment of the Control Room Solution from contract award to go-live and beyond
• Ensure solution aligns with the contracted requirements and Statement of Work
• Capture customer requirements and configure CRS accordingly
• Create technical documentation relating to the design and implementation of the solution
• Work with the Customer’s IT and Infrastructure leads to integrate the CRS solution into the customer environment
• Work closely with the CRS product engineering team to ensure new features, functionality and integrations are developed and delivered according to the project design
• Technical point of contact for the project, to the customer and our appointed third party suppliers
• Act as a quality gate for our third party supplier technical designs
• Evaluate the technical scope of change requests

Basic Requirements

Must Have:

• Ability to obtain NPPV3 security clearance

• A formal qualification (Degree) in Computing Science, Systems Architecture, IT or equivalent experience

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to communicate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, both technical and non-technical

• Familiarity with System Level Design

• Familiarity with network principles (including security), WAN technologies and routing;

• Familiarity with the Microsoft Server Family

• Knowledge of Agile Project management and software development principles

Highly Desirable:

• Experience of software deployment to UK bluelight (police and fire) agencies
• Experience working with Telephony (PSTN/PBX/SIP, etc.) and Radio (TETRA, DMR, Broadband PTT etc.) Communications systems
• Experience with Microsoft SQL
