This role combines expertise in ophthalmic imaging with a deep understanding of scientific and technical methodologies. The ideal candidate will contribute to the design, execution, and analysis of clinical trials, leveraging advanced imaging technologies to evaluate the efficacy and safety of novel ophthalmic therapeutics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership in the assessment of technical and scientific details of retinal imaging data and algorithms to ensure accuracy, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead external collaborations with data vendors and academic medical centers to acquire, manage, and leverage retinal imaging data and algorithms effectively.
• Drive digital data science projects related to clinical studies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support clinical trials, drive data-driven decision-making and support regulatory submissions for clinical trials in retinal diseases
• Develop and implement comprehensive data management strategies, ensuring seamless data transfers, quality control, and adherence to regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).

Knowledge And Skills:

• Expertise in assessing and validating retinal imaging technologies, image processing techniques, and algorithms.
• Demonstrated success in managing complex external collaborations, including vendor management and strategic partnerships with academic institutions.
• Strong understanding of data management principles, quality control processes, and regulatory requirements applicable to medical imaging data.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
• Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of driving innovative solutions and navigating challenges in a dynamic pharmaceutical environment
• This position may require approximately 10% travel

Formal Education and Experience Required:

• Advanced degree (PhD or equivalent) in biomedical engineering, computer science, bioinformatics, or a related field
• Proven leadership experience in managing medical imaging data, particularly in retinal diseases or ophthalmology, within a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company.
• Knowledge in ICH, GCP
