Associate Designer

We are currently seeking a highly motivated, forward-thinking, problem solving member to join the Civil Design team where you will be responsible for designing and supporting Substation projects in Connecticut and Western Massachusetts.

Essential Functions:

• Develop detailed engineering designs using computer-aided techniques.
• Develop final detailed design packages for projects through discussions and meetings with appropriate engineering & construction personnel, design disciplines, and outside vendors.
• Prepare conceptual designs and sketches based on field investigations, project scope, and engineering criteria supplied by project/discipline engineers.
• Perform field visits during the design process to verify site conditions, resolve field issues and verify the accuracy of the design.
• Provide guidance, training, and direction to design drafters in the development of finished drawings.
• Perform technical calculations for substantiating designs.
• Prepare, approve, and maintain bills of materials and other supporting documents associated with the design drawing development.
