Social Platforms Organizer

About the Role

Movement labs is hiring multiple people for the role of Social Platforms Organizer for the 2024 cycle. This position is critical for implementing political innovation ideas that involve contacting & organizing humans in digital communities and online forums with paid staff, volunteers, and automations.

These roles will be responsible for organizing online communities on their specific platform. Our ideal candidate is an organizing strategist with deep expertise in the political communities of a specific social media platform, specifically Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Discord, Reddit, or Twitter/X.

We are looking for someone who loves tough challenges, is extremely scrappy and creative and has a get-to-yes attitude.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the team to design and execute digital organizing campaigns
• Stay up to date on the political communities of various interest in your assigned platform(s)
• Manage a team of volunteers and/or fellows who will execute organizing strategies
• Utilize online tools and distributed organizing tactics to leverage volunteers when possible
• Build and maintain relationships with political influencers, group leaders, and creators
• Stay accountable to digital organizing goals

Requirements

Our ideal candidate is someone who has:

• Previous experience managing volunteers and persuading/mobilizing voters in either a digital or face-to-face capacity
• Passion and enthusiasm for progressive politics and social impact causes
• Exceptional writing, copyediting and proofreading skills
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills and sound judgment
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to think strategically to overcome challenges
• Ability to work long and irregular hours in a fast paced, metrics- driven work environment
• Passionate about fighting fascism and defeating Donald Trump by re-electing President Biden.
• Experience in political campaigns or progressive organizations
