Engineering Manager

The Geometry Engineer ensures the company's ability to build cars efficiently and with precise geometry from the Body Shop to Final Assembly, meeting all final demands and related car properties.

Responsibilities:

Running Production:

  • Support objectives and fulfill specific demand targets for Body and Final Assembly.
  • Ensure accurate measurement outcomes for current and future models, minimizing production downtime.
  • Provide geometry support to meet company quality objectives for vehicles 3 months in service and beyond.
  • Attend daily morning meetings with Management, Geometry Engineering, Geometry Technicians, and Maintenance Teams to review previous day activities and plan corrective actions.
  • Lead daily operational analyses and improvement activities involving products, processes, and suppliers.
  • Apply Geometry Assurance Disciplines, Processes, Methods, and Tools.
  • Assist Plant Quality teams with geometrical issues.
  • Deliver efficient root cause analyses, containment, and permanent fixes for geometry-related quality issues.
  • Initiate and manage events to enhance geometrical quality.
  • Conduct bi-weekly alignment meetings with Production, Audit, and Quality teams.
  • Develop and improve Geometry Assurance functions and work methods within and between plants.
  • Share lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives to secure business objectives.
  • Lead and conduct ongoing education and training on Geometry methods and tools for plant personnel.

Project Phase:

  • Lead tasks for Perceived Quality demands from initial stages to Final Status Report.
  • Apply Systems Geometry Engineer competencies in vehicle programs.
  • Ensure the plant meets geometric requirements during project phases and for running products/processes.
  • Provide Geometry expertise to Running and Development Departments.
  • Manage geometrical issues in vehicle programs.
  • Develop and conduct the trim part coordination process from pre-production series.
  • Lead Perceived Quality demands from validation phases to Final Status Report.
  • Manage geometry tooling, methods, and working practices, including geometry setting fixtures.
  • Check the 3D geometry of assembly equipment using standards.

Requirements

Competence Requirements:

  • University degree, technical education, or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to lead and manage workgroups.
  • Strong process knowledge/experience in Body Shop and Final Assembly.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.
  • Ability to assimilate and adapt ideas to operations.
  • Analytical thinking with the ability to structure and prioritize tasks.
  • Team player.
  • Proficiency in Catia, Teamcenter, CM4D, and PowerBI.
