DevOps Engineer

At Uni Systems, we are working towards turning digital visions into reality. We are continuously growing and we are looking for a professional DevOps Engineer to join our UniQue Ispra team.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our customers in the public sector and you will be responsible for developing new business by identifying profitable opportunities, maintaining your client portfolio by building strong, long-lasting relationships, and monitoring the progress of the projects, with the aim to provide excellent client service and added value services.

What will you be bringing to the team?

• Define configuration management and deployment strategies for applications that are managed within the unit of the European Institution
• Define and maintain CI/CD pipelines in e.g., GitLab
• Deploy CI/CD pipelines on virtual machines
• Interact with the unit of the European Institution's staff and other stakeholders to identify needs and requirements
• Implementation and configuration of applications to support new functionalities
• Write and maintain technical documentation

Requirements

What do you need to succeed in this position?

In-depth knowledge of:

• DevOps principles and practices, e.g., CI/CD processes and pipelines (setup, maintain, update).
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, particularly OpenShift
• Project’s repository planning
• Software versioning systems (Git)

Good knowledge of:

• Practical understanding of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies
• Practical knowlege of HELM chart
• Jenkins, Kubernetes or native GitLab runners
• Definition and implementation of custom acceptance tests
• Internet protocols including: HTTP, TCP/IP
• Service Oriented Architectures (REST) and APIs
• OOP and software architectural patterns
• Python and Javascript

General skills

• Very Good knowledge of English
• Attention to details
• Good problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with development and operations teams
• Capability of integration in an international/multi-cultural environment
