Software Engineer - Fullstack

The Grab Safety team is responsible for delivering safety features in the Grab super app. Our work impacts millions of people in Southeast Asia. Our goal is to deliver a safer everyday experience to our partners and consumers, as well as the community as a whole.

Get to know the Role:

We are looking for a Fullstack Software Engineer to maintain and develop safety features in our product. We believe a successful candidate has strong background in backend development or systems programming, in addition to fullstack experience, but if you believe you have what it takes then we’d love to hear from you either way. This role is required because we are looking to expand our team. In return, you will get an opportunity to work on features that impacts millions of lives in Southeast Asia.

The Day-to-Day Activities:

• Design and write in the Go language to improve availability, scalability, latency and efficiency of the services owned by the Grab Safety team.
• Work with engineering team to create new design/architectures geared towards scale and performance
• Participate in code and design reviews to maintain our high development standards
• Work with product managers, data analysts and UI designers to implement products and test their impact to business metrics
• Engage in service capacity and demand planning, software performance analysis, tuning and optimization
• Collaborate with product and experience teams to define and prototype features
• Work closely with infrastructure team in building and scaling back-end services as well as performing root-cause analysis investigations
• Conduct performance tuning and optimization
• Debug and modify complex, production software

Requirements

The Must-Haves:

• Strong Computer Science fundamentals in algorithms and data structures
• Familiarity with front end web development
• Understanding of systems internals and networking is a plus
• Possess excellent communication, sharp analytical abilities, able to think critically of the current system in terms of growth and stability
• You can be a good developer in any language, but must be willing to work on Go
• Someone that writes code for fun and passionate about software craftsmanship, and seeking to work with people that share similar passion
