About the Role

Are you ready to revolutionize blockchain infrastructure? As a Senior Distributed Systems Engineer at Tenderly, you'll be at the forefront of innovation, driving our technology to new heights in the rapidly evolving world of blockchain.

What you'll do:

Innovate and Enhance: Play a key role in advancing our cutting-edge orchestration system, transforming our core tech in Rust, and pushing the boundaries of what's possible.

Specialize: Dive deep into areas that excite you, from enhancing our Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) to fine-tuning our custom storage engine, boosting throughput, and expanding our virtualization ecosystem. Join us in contributing to the fastest-growing, bleeding-edge infra OSS ecosystem of web3 (Reth).

Lead and Own: Take full ownership of your projects, leading them from concept to completion. Be at the frontlines of the Race to a GIGAGAS node, and help build a groundbreaking distributed database and the only distributed, infinitely scalable node.

Optimize: Use your problem-solving skills and creativity to ensure our code runs efficiently. Create reusable components that enhance the scalability and resilience of our solutions. Master the art of balancing scale and performance, knowing that achieving both 100% is impossible.

Tackle Complex Issues: Confront and solve challenges related to distributed systems, performance, and scalability.

Develop strategies to strengthen the stability and efficiency of our storage solutions and other systems.

Work across both extremes of technical complexity, from low-level details like storage layout, networking, and virtual machine instruction sets, mastering the trade-offs to achieve strong consistency and availability, while optimizing performance for massive scale workloads, and more.

Foster Innovation: Dream up new features or enhancements and bring them to life, integrating them into our roadmap and overseeing their journey to production. Collaborate with industry-leading tech experts and help us maintain our #1 position while pushing for even greater success.

About You

We're looking for a highly skilled and innovative engineer with a passion for backend development and blockchain technology. You should have:

Technical Mastery: Solid understanding of Rust, Go, Kubernetes, and related technologies, with the ability to quickly grasp their internals.

Distributed Systems Expertise: Proficiency in distributed systems and familiarity with messaging protocols.

Strong Computer Science Foundation: A strong foundation in computer science principles.

Proven Track Record: Demonstrated experience in delivering high-quality, scalable software solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for tackling complex technical challenges.

Effective Communication: Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Blockchain Interest: Experience in the blockchain domain is beneficial but not mandatory; we focus on blockchain infrastructure rather than blockchain development.

Salary range: $190,000 -$220,000 plus bonus

Sick Leave. A generous sick leave policy.

Support in Life Changes

Sixteen weeks of paid parental leave for birthing parents. The leave is fully covered in the amount of the last salary person received during the regular engagement. It’s also effective immediately.

Four weeks of paid parental leave for non-birthing parents. Four weeks of paid time off after a baby has arrived (effective immediately), to help share the joys & responsibilities.

$190,000 - $220,000 a year
