Job Summary:

  • Be an integral member of a small, highly-experienced team in R&D that is responsible for the architecture of new, differentiating, digital IP acceleration domains used in the design of advanced microcontrollers and microprocessors based chips. The technology for which this team is responsible provides market differentiation of a product portfolio with over four billion USD in annual revenue. Chances are that the car you drive, the intelligent devices that pervade your living space and the factories that produce the goods you use will contain one or more of the chips that you contribute to.
  • We are part of MCU/MPU Engineering, a central design organization within NXP, developing products for multiple business lines in Automotive, Internet of Things (IoT), Networking, and Radio Frequency products, with expertise in hardware engineering, including architecture, IP, and full SoC Design.

Job Summary:

Ideal candidates will have experience with high performance technical teams spanning the globe and delivering differentiated graphics and human interface solutions. In this role you will:

  • Drive the IP roadmap and strategy for display IP technology development for all NXP display enabled products and guide architecture and engineering teams throughout the product R&D cycle.
  • Engaging externally with industry standards organizations including MIPI, and the HDMI Forum to drive the advancement of future display interface specifications
  • Develop knowledge of the competitive landscape and an understanding of technologies and approaches to help ensure differentiation of NXP SOCs
  • Collaborate with other display and graphics experts at NXP to develop key technologies to differentiate
  • Collaborate with business and engineering teams to formulate product concept and business case.
  • Facilitate design development efforts, performance estimation, and performance analysis through methodology and hands-on contributions
  • Create and maintain technical documents including architecture specifications, implementation guides, and user guides
  • Mentor junior and senior architects with your domain expertise
  • Leverage your strong communication skills

  • This position requires broad expertise and system knowledge to be successful. This includes working with SOC integration and implementation teams, performance modeling, logic design & verification and software driver & operating system development teams. You should be able to anticipate and prevent potential problems/roadblocks which could be discovered late in the post silicon final product development phase.

Cross functional aspects:

  • You are agile and self-driven and able to work without significant management oversight by grasping relative priorities and handling the requests from working with many different internal and external groups in parallel.
  • You have a passion and vision for the strategic directions of improvements in display technologies, and the ability to see things from the points-of-view of users, external customers, partners, and other internal teams to find the best overall path forward.
  • The local team is led by Fellows and Technical Directors with many years of domain experience to leverage and further develop skills useful as you advance your career

Job Qualifications:

  • MS or PhD degree in computer or electrical engineering with at least 10 years of architecture, design and/or verification experience.
  • Knowledge of display panel technologies, SERDES signal quality, display video timings, display color spaces and color processing, high dynamic range, and image resizing.
  • Experience with development and deployment of display interfaces such as MIPI, DisplayPort or HDMI.
  • Power optimization experience at the IP, SoC and system levels.
  • Proven record of architecting product solutions with new technologies and/or significant technological improvements.
  • Experience collaborating, influencing, and encouraging technical alignment across multi-functional, multi-location technical teams.
  • Experience engaging with and contributing to international standards development organizations.
  • Ability to support strategic technology roadmaps and partnerships across technology domains.
  • Have successfully developed deep customer relationships.
  • You have a passion to innovate, to think differently, to explore new avenues, and to influence stakeholders with detailed investigations
  • You are comfortable communicating and solving issues at all levels of architecture definition from micro-architecture to system level to software architecture.
  • You have been working on SOC infrastructure architectures and related system constraints.
  • You are used to working on immature technologies and follow up latest advancements in Research.
  • You thrive in an open collaborative working culture that provides an opportunity to impact products and roadmaps with your ideas/prototypes/empirical analysis.
  • You work in a structured, transparent, and accurate way.
  • You are a constructive team player and actively share experience and knowledge with colleagues.
  • Your networking skills, creativity, persistence, and passion for what you do are highly valued.
  • Experience in C/C++ programming language in a Linux and Windows environment.
  • Knowledge and experience with Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI/ML) networks and tools is a plus
