Software Engineer - Cloud Portals

Overview of Position:

As the key touchpoint of our customer experience, Speedcast's groundbreaking Compass Portal stands as a pivotal initiative propelling our journey towards becoming the premier leader in software-driven services within the industry. The Software Engineer - Cloud Portals will be responsible for enhancing current and delivering new functionalities to our Compass Cloud Portal, a single-pane-of-glass experience for users.

Responsibilities:

• Develop new features, add test coverage for your work, and embrace a product mindset of thinking as placing yourself in the users’ shoes as you develop features.
• Lead the design and implementation of epics and support the entire software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Enable technology best practices across the entire SDLC
• Enable technology best practices across the entire SDLC
• Work in multidisciplinary product and platform teams
• Participate in technical design reviews; auditing projects to ensure best practices are adopted
• Influence process improvements related to technical applications, systems, and customer implementations

Requirements:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong track record of successful development and delivery of complex, best-in-class cloud solutions.
• Experience with modern web frameworks: VueJS or equivalents
• Systems-thinker who can continuously reinvent and improve how to do things
• Experience working with UX Designers, Software Engineers, and multidisciplinary teams, on a collaborative process to define product strategy and roadmap
• Strong team player who supports their team in all regards and embraces ownership, accountability, and responsibility for the team’s work
• Experience operating autonomously and comfortable working across multiple teams and functions, with stakeholders in different disciplines and multiple regions
• Resilient, comfortable in ambiguous situations with the ability to approach challenges from multiple perspectives
• Excellent candidates for this position are highly motivated, deadline-driven, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Strong web fundamentals: HTML, CSS, modern JavaScript. TypeScript experience
• Experience with AWS Serverless infrastructure: SAM, CloudFormation or equivalents
• Experience with time series databases: InfluxDB or equivalents
• Experience modernizing existing code bases
• Experience creating fault tolerant scalable solutions with numerous dependencies on 3rd party systems.
