[What the role is]
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as Director, Philanthropic Partnerships. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success and satisfaction of our donors. You will lead and oversee all aspects of the donor experience & success function, working closely with cross-functional teams within the Philanthropic Group and NCSS to enable exceptional partnerships with our donor community. This is a senior team leadership position that requires a strategic mindset, strong business acumen, and a passion for driving donor-centric initiatives in philanthropic engagement. We place a premium on your ability in managing demanding stakeholder relationships, displaying grace under pressure, resolving conflict with aplomb with an eye on achieving sustainable long term partnerships.

This role reports directly into the Managing Director, Community Chest / Group Director, Philanthropic Group.

[What you will be working on]

  • Sustainable Philanthropy Framework: Build and lead a high-performing donor success team. Provide guidance, coaching, and support to ensure the team's success in exceeding fund raising targets for the Community Chest Fund, exceeding fund raising targets for key product lines including SHARE, Change-for-Charity and the Community Capability Trust by successfully executing NCSSโ€™ Sustainable Philanthropy Framework.
  • Strategy Development: Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to engage philanthropic donors and partners, aligning with the organization's mission and goals. Identify and establish partnerships with corporations, government agencies, trade associations, and SSAs to leverage resources and maximize impact. Identify and cultivate new donor segments/revenue streams by leveraging the extensive suite of NCSS resources including matching grants and government supported initiatives.
  • Sector Development & Advocacy: Cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporations, and other stakeholders to increase the giving of Time, Treasure and Talent. Lead assigned sectors in fundraising initiatives, including campaigns, events, and appeals, in close calibration with NCSS Services and Fund Allocations teams on NCSS funded programs and other nationally strategic initiatives.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Collaborate closely with internal PG teams including Philanthropic Experience and Philanthropic Strategy, services, fund allocation, communications, and finance teams, to ensure alignment and integration of fundraising efforts with organizational objectives. Work with the Community Chest Committee, Sub-committees, PC Steering Committee, and key stakeholders to strategise and implement various philanthropic and volunteerism initiatives.
  • Donor Management, Insights and Reporting: Develop and maintain an updated donor leads and opportunity pipeline for tracking and reporting on fundraising activities and outcomes, ensuring accountability and transparency to stakeholders. Participate in the development, utilisation and refinement of donor data and insights in delivering a positive donor and user experience. Ensure risk management / mitigation on systems and public facing platforms and touchpoints.
  • Strategic Communication: Develop compelling messaging and materials to effectively communicate the impact of philanthropic support and partnerships to donors, partners, and the wider community. Perform as designated spokesperson when assigned by GD/PG for People-Public-Private sectors and media enquiries to represent philanthropy and engagement area of work for Community Chest, with support from NCSS Communication & Marketing

[What we are looking for]

  • Proven track record of at least 15+ years in customer success, account management, or a related field, including but not limited to fund raising, philanthropy and social services, preferably with the past 6 years in leadership positions.
  • High energy, people-oriented leadership & demonstrated track record in successfully leading and scaling a revenue generating team customer facing, preferably in securing major gifts, grants, and revenue generating partnerships.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in crafting persuasive proposals and presentations.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement innovative fundraising strategies.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and complex organisational environment.
  • Commercially astute with strong business acumen and change management experience, coupled with a passion for and keen understanding of social services sector trends and opportunities.
