Your impact

Isomorphic labs are seeking a protein engineer to join a team capitalising on the potential of our platform in the design of macromolecule based therapeutics. This represents a significant opportunity to be part of a team shaping the future of generative de novo antibody and protein based therapeutics design.

This role would be ideal for an experienced protein engineer with significant expertise in modifying proteins to optimise their therapeutic properties.

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with Isomorphic labs’ world leading AI, ML and drug discovery experts to develop imaginative new ways, based on generative AI, to design and optimise protein based therapeutics. You will play a pivotal role in our biologic drug design projects, working with key internal and external stakeholders to progress these exciting projects in early Drug Discovery through to Candidate Selection and ultimately to Clinical Phase work.

You will have experience of working broadly across drug discovery projects and have the ability to think originally and critically, knowing when to apply innovative ideas, and think with a beginners' approach.

What you will do

• Apply your molecular biology knowledge to the process of engineering antibodies
• Deliver the protein/antibody engineering strategy for biologics discovery programs
• Be a key point of contact for data analysis and interpretation, and relaying this information to the project team
• Liaise with external CROs/ partners to deliver defined work packages to support program progress

Skills and qualifications

Essential:

• At least a BSc in molecular biology, or related discipline
• Extensive experience delivering protein/antibody engineering strategies on biologics portfolio programs, including sequence liability de-risking, affinity maturation, protein stability and post translational modification engineering
• Working knowledge of protein expression including membrane proteins for therapeutic biologics discovery
• Solid working knowledge of the pro and cons of CROs that offer protein engineering as a service
• Experience working in multidisciplinary large molecule drug discovery teams
• Excellent communications skills such that protein/antibody engineering data and strategies are clearly communicated to both experts and non-experts, to facilitate testing and training of ML based model and project progression

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of de novo biologics design
• Experience in an industrial setting
