The Site Manager oversees the overall operations of the New York City Asylee Flex Program at an assigned location, managing daily operations, ensuring smooth functioning, compliance with contracts, and maintaining open communication with key stakeholders. The Site Manager must live within a 50-mile radius of the New York City metropolitan area. The Site Manager will report to the Program Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of asylee shelter/lodging, ensuring the facilities operate smoothly and addressing issues promptly.
  • Vet and train staff members working in these shelter/lodging, selecting qualified personnel and providing necessary training.
  • Supervise key staff in their roles, troubleshooting, liaising with key stakeholders and partners, and providing logistical oversight, as applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual agreements and handle reporting requirements, maintaining open communication with key stakeholders, including hotel/lodging, to manage relationships effectively.
  • Coordinate services for migrants, including shelter, food, housekeeping, security, case management, laundry, legal assistance, travel, education, and donations, ensuring excellence in service delivery and linking migrants with case managers for further processing.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and contractual safety policies and local jurisdictional codes and laws.
  • Participate in and support safety meetings, training, and company goals.
  • Conduct all duties professionally, ensuring compliance with OSHA, VPP, JSO, Joint Commission, AAAHC, HIPAA, and other regulations.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Provide direction to staff on maintenance and equipment repair.
  • Coordinate and monitor emergency/evacuation drills.
  • Ensure staff adherence to established emergency protocols and procedures.
  • Implement and monitor continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings to discuss performance, challenges, and updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Services, Hospitality Management, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related fields.
  • At least 3 years of progressive experience in staff supervision and program management, preferably in emergency management or human services.
  • Proficiency in common office equipment and software, including MS Office products.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Planning and organizational skills with the ability to work under deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for developing effective relationships
  • Ability to demonstrate cultural competence, inclusivity and sensitivity (e.g. trauma-informed care, emotional intelligence, shelter experience/background working with vulnerable populations such as asylees, refugees, homeless individuals)
  • Demonstrate ability to multitask effectively, maintain attention to detail, work efficiently under deadlines, stay organized, and adapt to changing environments.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under stress.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
  • Ability to multitask, be detail-oriented, organized, and adaptable.
  • Experience in hospitality or emergency management preferred.
  • Knowledge of local and state health and safety regulations.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs and lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to withstand various environmental conditions.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, or stoop for entire shift durations.
  • Visual acuity required to complete paperwork, computer work, and direct line of sight supervision of staff.
  • Prepared to respond to dynamic supervision situations with asylees.
