International Logistics Intern

As part of Global Markets and Technologies (GM&T), the Maritime activity connects a wide range of global markets to essential molecules across borders and oceans. Air Liquide Maritime is organized along four business units, namely Offshore Energies, Cryogenic Supply, Global Rare Gases and Global Helium, and is also supporting OCEOS, a joint Venture to offer CO2 shipping and barging services for CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) projects across Europe.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The International Logistics Intern is within the Maritime Cryogenic Supply (MCS) Business Unit. MCS connects customers to gas molecules across oceans through global multimodal solutions. With teams based in France and in Malaysia and a strong entrepreneurial spirit, MCS is able to offer top quality service to its customers, which can be Air Liquide affiliates or end customers. Customers benefit from a one-stop shop offer and tailor-made solutions thanks to a strong molecule sourcing strategy, a large fleet of cryogenic ISO containers suitable for road, rail and sea, and reliable transport services from ocean freight to last-mile delivery, and from ex-works to door-to-door supply.

The International Logistic Intern is part of the MCS Europe team, will actively contribute to the activity’s operations in particular related to sea freight and import / export transport to Americas, Africa, Middle East, ensuring high level of customers’ satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

The International Logistics intern will contribute at each steps of the supply chain:

Logistics management:

• Book sea freight shipments as per customer needs and planning constraints
• Edit and send the commercial and shipping documents to the partners and customers
• Trace ISO information for customs documentation, confirm container’s state for departure, prepare export documents
• Communicate delivery information to customers, as well as any changes
• Follow-up returning empty containers to anticipate arrival’s and optimize logistics journey
• Trace ISO stock movement
• Control sea freight costs

Performance management:

• Publish KPIs on logistics performance
• Publish Supply and Operations containers Planning and alert on risks
• Identify improvement opportunities on performance and customer satisfaction

INTERACTIONS

• External: sourcing plants, road carriers, seafreight partners & customs brokers, customers & prospects
• Internal: Operations coordinator, Operations manager, AL sourcing plants, MCS business and procurement team, MCS IMS manager, AL Maritime Industrial Pole (investments and projects), MCS teams in Malaysia (CTS), AL Maritime Quality & Safety Manager

COMPETENCIES

Knowledge specific to the position

• Business school / International Logistics
• Knowledge in cryogenic gas and equipment a plus
• Good English communication skills, both written and verbal (French is a plus)

• Capability to go into details without losing the global picture

• Strong Quality and Safety orientation
