Software Engineering Team Lead

Ripjar specialises in the development of software and data products that help governments and organisations combat serious financial crime. Our technology is used to identify criminal activity such as money laundering and terrorist financing, enabling organisations to enforce sanctions at scale to help combat rogue entities and state actors.

Our Delivery team provides robust and feature rich software using Ripjar’s world-class technologies to satisfy broad customer requirements into both the government and commercial organisations.

What you’ll be doing:
As a Software Engineering Team Lead, you will inspire a diverse team of talented engineers to design, build and deploy solutions for our customers. You will be using the latest technologies to provide solutions that are highly available and operate at scale.

Key tasks:

Technical leadership of:

• Deployment, configuration & integration of new product installations.
• Integration of new structured and unstructured data sources with Ripjar’s solution using advanced ETL techniques, including with NiFi and Ripjar’s JavaScript based Workflows.
• Transforming the CI/CD Pipeline to enable our processes to scale.
• Evolving Ripjar’s technology base to keep us up to date with the latest developments and technologies.
• Team contributions to new product development
• Finding practical solutions for customer issues using a variety of different technologies that form part of the Ripjar ecosystem.
• Collaborating with our engineering, product, UX, and architecture teams to enhance our technology stack and product base.
• Ensure a motivated, effective and efficient team using Agile working practices.
• Mentoring and supporting personal development of team members.
• Performing line management tasks for team members
• This role will also require you to remain “hands-on” to assist the team

Requirements

The successful candidate should have these skills:

• Expertise in JavaScript, Node.js and React with an underlying understanding of web technologies and frameworks.
• Proficient in the use of Linux, Git, MongoDB, and OpenSearch.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS), containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and data processing solutions (Apache NiFi).
• An understanding of how to create solutions that are secure, highly available, resilient, and scalable.
• A technical proficiency and a concrete understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Collect and communicate customer feedback to help influence product enhancements and improvements whilst driving changes to our technical stack.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, with the capability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with customers and internal engineering teams / stakeholders.
• A willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites when required.
• SC or DV clearance would be beneficial
