You will have the opportunity to bring Vuori designs to life. As the Trim Developer your raw materials background and knowledge to support the trims team with the pre-season and in-season activities. You will own trim and packaging creation as well as aid in data tracking, forecasting, and providing updates on trim developments and timelines.

You are the link between design, merchandising, development and the factories. It is essential that all communication is accurate, complete, timely and professional. Therefore, we entrust you to develop quality, on-time and cost-efficient materials and trims that are a reflection of Vuori’s aesthetic and ethos.

Requirements

What you'll get to do:

  • Collaborates with Design/Merchandising/Development to source appropriate seasonal trims that meet Vuori’s design aesthetic and corporate target margin goals.
  • Works closely with Trims Manager, Production and Planning teams on any replenishment forecasts to factories/mills/suppliers.
  • Manage the data integrity and input of all trim and packaging developments in the Trim Development Tracker, digital and physical Trim Libraries and launching a PLM library.
  • Responsible for owning trim category sample comments; reviews comments with designers; communicates with suppliers and vendors; written and verbal, on pertinent design/development related issues.
  • Leads category design pass-offs to review new developments and conveys those briefs to nominated suppliers. Vets artwork for feasibility and provides technical feedback to Design.
  • Develops new colorway and reviews color against garment fabric to ensure consistent color quality.
  • Ensure that all developed trim & packaging meet VUORI testing and compliance protocols for quality and wash requirements.
  • Aids in monitoring time/action calendars to hit target calendar dates including Proto, Photo Shoot, Sales Samples, Pre-production through Bulk.
  • Works to negotiate costing with suppliers to achieve costs to meet target wholesale and gross margin targets. Suggest alternatives when relevant.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Textiles, Merchandising, Business, Engineering, Manufacturing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4+ years of development experience is required and/or product management experience with an understanding record of managing product from concept to completion.
  • Color and testing experience. Completion of Munsell 100 Hue Test a plus.
  • Sense of fashion and trend in relation to the market.
  • Knowledge of materials used in the engineering and manufacturing processes used to build products.
  • Intermediate Computer Drawing skills for technical and construction detail sketches & related art using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop a plus.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills with emphasis on Google/Google docs and Microsoft offices a plus.
  • Experience in PLM, specifically Centric, a plus.
  • Aptitude for systems and systematic work.
  • Must possess strong knowledge of costing, garment construction, and all pre-production coordination.
  • International travel experience is a plus; possible international travel required.
  • Willing and able to work additional hours when needed.
  • Bend, lift, open and move product and related office items varying in weight from 1 to 25lbs, depending on need.
