What you’ll do at Elekta

As part of our team, you will play a pivotal role in product creation, research, innovation, and maintenance of our QA products. Your responsibilities will include providing physics support to our engineering team developing QA solutions for advanced radiotherapy. This involves contributing to design specifications, devising test methodologies, and conducting experiments and investigations to ensure our solutions meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.

A Senior Physicist’s responsibilities will be (but not limited to):

  • Design and review machine QA and performance tests.
  • Create, review, and sign-off physics plans and physics reports.
  • Perform physics QA and acceptance of systems under development.
  • Approve technical documentation impacting physics performance and compliance of QA tests.
  • Investigate escalated customer complaints and defects related to physics.
  • Be accountable for the software you ship and for the overall success of the team.
  • Be part of a learning organization, always open to test new ideas.
  • Be part of a product scrum team with shared objectives and ready to help each other.
  • Additional roles and responsibilities may be assigned as required.

What you bring

  • Advanced degree in Physics, Radiation Physics, Medical Physics, or related discipline.
  • Fluent in English with strong communication skills (verbal and written).

Additional qualifications to set yourself apart

  • Clinical experience, including machine QA and patient QA work.
  • Experience with image guided radiotherapy systems and clinical physics workflows.
  • Knowledge of radiation physics and dosimetry, Linac commissioning and acceptance, QA equipment and test methods, and relevant software applications.
  • Familiar with image analysis and simulation tools, and scripting to automate processes.
  • Ability to apply commercial awareness when making technical decisions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, use initiative, and be proactive.
  • Experience working in a product development setting using Agile methodologies.
  • Strong quality culture, ethical standards, values, and good judgement.
  • Critical thinking with ability to provide feedback and formulate improvement plans.
  • Ability to explain complex technical problems to non-technical audiences.
