Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Nillion is humanity’s first Blind Computer. It is powered by a decentralized network of nodes that enables “Blind Computation” through the coordination and orchestration of privacy enhancing technologies (PETs) such as multi-party computation (MPC) and homomorphic encryption (HE). Nillion believes Blind Computation will become the internet’s base layer for all private data as PETs continue to mature. Nillion has attracted a notable initial cohort of Blind Computation builders across AI, DeFi, medical data, custody, wallets, global identity, messaging and much more.

The project has attracted some of the top talent in tech, including the Founder of Indiegogo (Slava Rubin), Associate General Counsel of Coinbase (Lindsay Danas Cohen), Co-Founder of Hedera Hashgraph (Andrew Masanto) and several other high profile team members.

We’re looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to help design and build our Layer 1 Solution, including guardrails, and load balancing features, with a view towards re-architecting and improving latency across our distributed infrastructure.

Nillion is a remote-first organization primarily focused on European and US East Coast time zones. Some travel may be required.

Requirements

• Prior experience with a range of orchestration and configuration management tools. We use Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform and Salt.
• An ability to develop tooling, and monitoring solutions where none exist and can debug unreliable software - many of the projects we run are of alpha quality.
• Possesses good knowledge of security as it relates to bare-metal and cloud-based infrastructure.
• Strong troubleshooting expertise , especially with regard to crash & performance issues, load-balancing, VIPs/fail-over IPs, RAID
• Experience programming in Rust, Typescript, or Go, and expertise in monitoring systems such as Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Datadog, or other
• Familiarity with networking, load balancing, and related features/services offered by cloud providers such as AWS or GCP
• Familiarity withLinux security standards and best practices

Responsibilities:

You’ll work on infrastructure automation by designing, setting up, and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) whilst also providing automated provisioning and orchestration of internal development, staging, and production services using Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and similar technologies.

You’ll help manage virtual network infrastructure through our cloud providers such as AWS and GCP, including DNS/domain management, firewall and load balancing services.

As part of the above, you’ll play a significant role in designing, writing and delivering software to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and performance of our platform.
