You will be responsible for managing the coding development of all teams within the Portfolio Optimisation & Pricing department (Pricing, Hedging, Forecasting, Quantitative Research and Spot Trading)

You will be expected to build quantitative solutions and support existing models and applications such as forecasting and pricing engines.

You will also work closely with IT: providing ‘thought leadership’ on the use of the python programming language; ensuring that development within the Portfolio Optimisation & Pricing department (and tools/processes to support that development) meet/exceed the standards set by IT; engaging with IT on new projects to maximise utilisation of IT capabilities (DBA, Architecture, etc)

What skills/experience do I need to be successful?

  • Substantial quantitative development experience in energy trading (pricing, volume forecasting, hedging);
  • Expertise in managing and optimizing code bases, and productionizing quantitative solutions;
  • Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., git) and containerized solutions;
  • Experience with VBA, C#, C++, R, and strong Python skills (development and teaching);
  • Significant experience with Azure, DevOps, Agile methodologies, and strong SQL skills.
