The Pulp Mill Operation Maintenance Coordinator serves as the single point contact between Maintenance and Operations for the Pulp Mill (Bleach Plant, Gas Plant & Caustic Plant areas) Woodyard and Utilities & Water/Waste Treatment areas. The Validator is the gatekeeper for all work requests and prioritizes workflow to emphasize safety, quality, and productivity needs. The Validator reports to the Director of Fiber/Utilities and works directly with Area Managers, Maintenance Planners and Supervisors.
Accountabilities
- Manages the Maintenance Spending/ Costs in their area
- Reviews PDM and Operator Care reports - generates work orders for corrective actions.
- Provides feedback to those writing work notifications (Constructive & When Work Scheduled)
- Approves notifications/WO that needs to be planned.
- Assures notifications are complete before converting to WO
- Approves all maintenance work performed in their area
- Determines what emergent work will break into the daily or weekly schedules
- Is responsible for Safety WO back-log scheduling
- Approves the weekly work schedule
- Is responsible for the schedule compliance metrics
- Starts any Management of Change for indirect work (changes in kind)
- Initiates and participates in RCFA’s
- Prioritize Scheduled to be Planned and Scheduled Work
- Lead Weekly Planning and Scheduling meetings
- Coordinate with Area Managers to ensure on time LO/TO for scheduled maintenance work
- Leads the daily reliability team meeting
- Ensures area reliability team agenda is followed daily
- No Job will be scheduled without Validator’s approval
Requirements
- Three to five (3-5) years’ experience in a Pulp Mill department. At least two (2) years should have been as a frontline supervisor in PulpMill, Utilities and/or Woodyard. Related experience will be considered;
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, OR equivalent experience (in lieu of degree) is required;
- Must have excellent communication skills, promote accountability and transparency;
- Must demonstrate pro-active skills in problem identification and developing solutions;
- Must demonstrate ability to handle multiple tasks and organize a group of people to accomplish those tasks;
- Highly self-motivated and driven;
- Must be willing to learn about other areas of the mill.
