WordPress Plugin Developer

JustWatch is the world’s leading streaming guide for movies and TV shows and live sports with over 45 million monthly users in 139 countries. You can search more than100.000 movies and TV shows to find out where you can legally watch any of them across hundreds of streaming services.

In addition to showing this streaming service availability data (e.g. “in the US, you can watch Harry Potter on Netflix”) on our own website and apps, we have partners (bloggers, news websites, movie databases etc.) who wish to integrate it into their WordPress websites.

We are looking for an experienced freelance WordPress plugin developer to create a Movie and TV Show where-to-watch plugin that will be used by our partners on their websites.

What You Will Be Doing

• Getting onboarded to the plugin, understanding its setup, and gaining full knowledge of its internal structure.
• Performing plugin maintenance and enhancements as well as providing continuous support for partners/clients and their setups.
• Communicating with the team frequently, ideally in a non-technical manner, to ensure clear understanding and collaboration.
• Writing and maintaining comprehensive documentation on the plugin for both internal use (developers and sales) and external use (clients).

What You Will Need:

• Successfully created non-trivial plugins for WordPress. Please send links to published and unpublished ones in the plugin directory and/or descriptions and screenshots of ones developed for clients when you apply. Specify exactly what part of the plugin you were responsible for and what code you wrote. The goal is to showcase your ability to create clear documentation and communicate non-technical information effectively.
• Ability to write well-structured, maintainable, and testable code in modern PHP.
• Knowledgeable of the WordPress Plugin steps and documentation needed.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing (in English).
