As a Data Science Intern, you will play a crucial role in our multidisciplinary team, working on cutting-edge projects in battery degradation modelling, asset optimization, demand forecasting and economic modelling. You will collaborate closely with and receive mentorship from our senior data scientist to develop and implement models that enhance our understanding of battery performance, enable optimization of our assets, and contribute to the development of our internal modelling tools.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of ML, AI and battery degradation models
  • Assist in optimizing battery assets through time series forecasting and optimisation.
  • Contribute to the development of internal tools for modelling the economics of our energy assets.
  • Engage in the entire lifecycle of data science projects, from data preparation to model development and validation.
  • Collaborate with team members to understand project requirements and deliver solutions that align with business objectives.

Must-haves

  • At least 2nd year of a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong proficiency in Python.
  • Familiarity with unit and integration testing.
  • Good object orientated design principles.
  • Knowledge of version control such as git and GitHub
  • Knowledge in time series forecasting.
  • Basic understanding of data science methodologies and principles.
  • Experience with visualization tools for data analysis (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly).
  • Must be self-motivated and an effective team player
  • Eligible to work in the UK.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL)
  • Experience working on existing codebases
  • Experience with Spark for big data processing.
  • Skills in data engineering for creating and managing data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with MLOps, including model deployment and maintenance in cloud environments.
