Are you the one we’re looking for?

We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Early Years Facilitator who demonstrates our values of compassion, accountability, responsiveness, and empowerment; to our clients, families, and each other.

The Early Years Facilitator is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of services, which operate at an EarlyON Child and Family Centre.

Work location may vary in Hamilton. Based on Enrollment and Operational needs, your work can be assigned to any program that falls under the Children and Family Services Department.

This position is a unionized, full-time, permanent position. The rate of pay is $22.89 per hour. There are 2 positions available. Rotating shift within operating hours from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday. Hours per week are 40.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan, develop, and implement services and programs for children and adults attending the Wesley EarlyON Child and Family Centre. Ensuring that program statistics stay within annual targets.
  2. Assist families in registering for a KeyON account and accessing registration for programs.
  3. Provide current and relevant information to parents/caregivers about services in the community and at Wesley that may address their needs and make appropriate referrals as required.
  4. Welcome, support and interact with program participants, remembering to be sensitive to all families including those culturally diverse, LGBTQ+, young parents, etc.
  5. Ensure the Wesley EarlyON Child and Family Centre’s compliance with all legal requirements including reporting serious occurrences through the proper reporting procedure.
  6. Ensure programming is based on the Ministry of Education’s pedagogy, “How Does Learning Happen?”
  7. Prepare and maintain a child-friendly environment, and ensure all program participants are supervised.
  8. Facilitate workshops at Wesley EarlyON Child and Family Centres as required.
  9. Participate and contribute to team meetings and staff development opportunities and keep abreast of current early learning and care trends to maintain high-quality service.
  10. Follow the policies and procedures of the programs and Wesley.

What you will bring:

  1. Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education and current registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
  2. Two years of current experience in working in an EarlyON Child and Family Centre (ages 0-6 years) and with community partners.
  3. Current and thorough knowledge of KeyON (digital sign-in membership application) and current experience working within the application.
  4. Current knowledge of the use of the Infant and Early Years Mental Health Pathway.
  5. Demonstrated skills in work collaboratively with community partners on early learning and care initiatives.
  6. Experience and sensitivity working with all families including those in an urban core setting, culturally diverse, LGBTQ+, young parents, etc.
  7. Current 1st aid/CPR, Safe Food Handling Certificate, N.V.C.I. training, ECERS and evidence-based parenting workshops.
