3D Product Developer

About The Role:

• Lead the development of knitwear styles from concept to commercialization, integrating 3D technology at all stages to optimize efficiency and quality control.
• Collaborate closely with Design as a co-creation partner, leveraging 3D visualizations and prototypes to bring creative vision to life and through commercialization.
• Interpret a hand sketch into a render realistic sample & 3D sketch.
• Utilize advanced 3D sketch platforms to visualize and refine designs before production, enhancing speed to market and design accuracy.
• Apply deep knowledge of yarns and sweaters to influence fit and construction, supported by insights gained from 3D simulations.
• Oversee the creation of physical samples and prototypes, ensuring they meet established standards, design intent, and calendar deliverables.
• Lead 3D form studies to optimize fit, construction, and aesthetic appeal, ensuring products meet both creative and technical requirements.
• Conduct fittings and style reviews using 3D renderings and physical prototypes, facilitating clear communication of design and fit requirements to all stakeholders.
• Manage and enhance 3D libraries and standards (materials, trims, avatars, poses, lighting etc) to streamline development processes and ensure consistency in design execution.
• Research and implement 3D, fit, material, and construction innovations to drive efficiency gains and enhance product quality.
• Identify and champion opportunities to reduce sampling and lead times using advanced 3D technologies.
• Develop detailed 3D product specifications, integrating color and knit machinery requirements to guide manufacturing processes.
• Maintain accurate Tech Packs and Specification pages utilizing 3D software where applicable, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in manufacturing processes.
• Create and manage Bill of Materials (BOM) to optimize production accuracy and streamline material sourcing processes.
• Collaborate strategically with Design, Sourcing, and Quality teams to achieve commercial viability and exceed quality goals.
• Partner with vendors and MD on material development and sourcing strategies, utilizing 3D technology to achieve design and cost objectives.
• Collaborate with Sourcing and Finance to conduct cost analysis and margin assessment, balancing design integrity and functionality to meet financial targets effectively.
• Maintain alignment with product calendars, providing transparent status updates and risk analysis to key stakeholders.
• Support Quality Assurance and Sourcing in resolving production issues promptly and efficiently.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through feedback sharing and staying on the forefront of innovation, industry trends, and technological advancements.
• Collaborate closely with Merchandising and Product Education teams to ensure accurate product information and alignment with market needs.
• Provide guidance and training to Product Developers and Assistants, fostering proficiency in 3D technology to elevate team capabilities.

About You:

• 8+ years of working experience in a Knitwear Development position or similar (Education in Industrial Design, Tailored Design, Product Design, Knitted Technologies, Contour Fashion Design)
• Efficient user of 3D software programs specific to fully fashioned apparel & accessories
• Degree in Design or relevant field preferred, showcasing a strong foundation in design principles and 3D technology applications.
• Proficiency in 3D CLO, PLM, Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator & photoshop.
• Comprehensive technical knowledge spanning fibers, yarns, gauge/tension, fully fashioned construction/fit, finishes/techniques and quality testing, augmented by advanced 3D visualization skills.
• Experience with seamless knitting in manufacturing environment.
• Exceptional communication skills, adept at fostering collaboration across global teams and translating creative visions into tangible outcomes.
• Detail-oriented with robust organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities, essential for managing complex projects and deadlines.
