3D Product Developer

About The Role:

• Lead the development of assigned woven apparel styles from concept to commercialization, integrating 3D technology at all stages to optimize efficiency and quality.
• Collaborate closely with Design as a co-creation partner, leveraging 3D visualizations and prototypes to bring creative vision to life and through commercialization.
• Interpret hand sketches into a realistic sample & 3D render.
• Utilize advanced 3D sketch platforms to visualize and refine designs before production, enhancing speed to market and design accuracy.
• Apply deep knowledge of woven fabrics to influence fit and construction, supported by insights gained from 3D simulations.
• Oversee the creation of physical samples and prototypes, ensuring they meet established standards, design intent, and calendar deliverables.
• Lead 3D form studies to optimize fit, construction, and aesthetic appeal, ensuring products meet both creative and technical requirements.
• Conduct fittings and style reviews using 3D renderings and physical prototypes, facilitating clear communication of design and fit requirements to all stakeholders.
• Manage and enhance 3D libraries and standards (materials, trims, avatars, poses, lighting etc) to streamline development processes and ensure consistency in design execution.
• Research and implement 3D, fit, material, and construction innovations to drive efficiency gains and enhance product quality.
• Identify and champion opportunities to reduce sampling and lead times using advanced 3D technologies.
• Develop detailed 3D product specifications, maintain accurate Tech Packs and Specification pages utilizing 3D software where applicable, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in manufacturing processes.
• Create and manage Bill of Materials (BOM) to optimize production accuracy and streamline material sourcing processes.
• Collaborate strategically with Design, Sourcing, and Quality teams to achieve commercialization and exceed quality goals.
• Partner with vendors and MD on material development and sourcing strategies, utilizing 3D technology to achieve design and cost objectives.
• Collaborate with Sourcing and Finance to conduct cost analysis and margin assessment, balancing design integrity and functionality to meet financial targets effectively.
• Maintain alignment with product calendars, providing transparent status updates and risk analysis to key stakeholders.
• Support Quality Assurance and Sourcing in resolving production issues promptly and efficiently.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through feedback sharing and staying on the forefront of innovation, industry trends, and technological advancements.
• Collaborate closely with Merchandising and Product Education teams to ensure accurate product information and alignment with market needs.
• Collaborating, partnering, and aligning with other Product Developers to ensure consistency across product type (i.e. construction standards, process, and sharing of best practices) as well as fostering proficiency in 3D technology to elevate team capabilities.

About You:

• 5+ years of working experience within a Woven Apparel Development Role or related position (Education in Industrial Design, Tailored Design, Product Design, Contour Fashion Design)
• Efficient users of CLO and additional 3D software solutions
• A Degree in Design is an asset
• Proficiency in 3D CLO, PLM, Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator & photoshop.
• Comprehensive technical knowledge of woven fabrics including fiber content/compositions, weave/construction, weight, performance characteristics, finishes/techniques and how it relates to proper fit, drape, and comfort.
• Experience with production, manufacturing, and sourcing.
• Exceptional communication skills, adept at fostering collaboration across global teams and translating creative visions into tangible outcomes.
• Detail-oriented with robust organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities, essential for managing complex projects and deadlines.
• Proactive problem solver with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation, driven by a commitment to excellence in product development and quality.
