Its Spot robot is performing inspections on thousands of sites around the world, and its Atlas robot has set the standard for humanoid agility and performance. In this role, you will work with a cross-functional team to design amazing end-to-end hardware experiences for our customers. Your customer focus and attention to detail will help us deliver commercially successful whole product solutions that change the world’s idea of what robots can do.

Boston Dynamics is tackling some of the toughest robotics challenges. For years, our awe-inspiring viral videos on YouTube have shown the world what remarkably capable robots can do. Now we are quickly becoming a recognized leader in remote inspection and automation solutions for industrial applications and warehouse logistics.

**Day to day activities:

  • Communicate with customers remotely and on-site to understand their needs, how they are using our products, and how we can help them succeed.
  • Work with our leadership team to scope hardware requirements and shape multi-year product development strategies to develop state-of-the-art robotic solutions.
  • Collaborate with designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to build and test robot hardware, payloads, and accessories.
  • Partner with hardware, firmware, and full-stack developers in an iterative development process to prioritize, scope, implement, test, ship, and evaluate hardware features.
  • Scoping proof of concept and pilot engagements on customer sites, to collect feedback on features and measure value.

**Desired skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a product manager, applications engineer, or founder.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with robotics products.
  • Capacity to distill customer requests into actionable and appropriately scoped problem definitions for the engineering team.
  • Experience with hardware prototyping and design process.
  • Metrics-driven: track record of leveraging strong analytical and quantitative skills and data to make assumptions and drive decisions.
  • Experience using and managing cross-functional collaboration and product development tools such as JIRA and experience with agile development and lean startup principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for robotics, product design, and artificial intelligence.

**Travel:

  • Occasional travel to customer sites for user testing, interviews, and observation.
