Senior Manager

The Finance and Administration team is a growing unit within the Department of Commerce that leads all financial operations with an annual budget of $250M. The Senior Manager will manage the day-to-day fiscal operations of the department, including budget document preparation, fiscal administration and compliance, and contract administration. Their work will inform the Senior Director of Finance and executive leadership of the fiscal health of the overall organization.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with the City’s operating and capital budgets, accounting and contract software (FAMIS, ACIS, & ADPICS), and be able to creatively communicate those processes to general audiences to ensure information and decisions are clearly conveyed, plus the savvy to work in a political environment and navigating a large bureaucracy is essential.

Essential Functions include:

• Monitor, track, and reconcile the day-to-day financial operations of the department, including payroll, programs and services, supplies and equipment, hotel tax, grants revenue, expenditures, and capital projects.
