Group Senior Underwriter - Surety

Within the Group Underwriting Department: you will join Group Senior Expert team for specialty lines focusing on the following activities:

• Group surety underwriting, with the objectives of maintaining the profitability of this business line, reducing operational risk, improving workflow and reporting tools, and supporting the underwriting activity of new surety entities.

• Arbitration of Coface Re’s Surety Reinsurance activity

Main missions :

• Analyze the risks associated with the bonding facility requested: financial risk linked to the principal debtor/guarantee and associated risks:

o The performance of the contract or underlying obligation, the subject of the suretyship

o The type of bond to be issued (Taxonomy)

o The status of the beneficiary

o The duration of the commitment.

• Determine the maximum risk over a specified period under a bonding facility, under a bonding or a risk participation behind an issuing bank. Determine the collateral/security necessary to grant these risks.

• Coordinate decision-making with the Group Underwriting Department, using and informing internal systems.

• Ensure and apply Group underwriting rules;

• Assist entities with the analysis of their portfolio, the adaptation of their subscription policy and the annual review of their authorizations.

• Ensure compliance with regulations and procedures defined by Coface and the regulator.

Requirements

PROFILE

• Economic, Insurance, of Finance background.
• Master’s in finance or insurance or equivalent,
• Solid similar experience of at least 7 years and deep experience underwriting and managing these types of risks;
• Capacity of synthesis and decision-making;
• Good team spirit and interpersonal skills and dynamism, you are organized and autonomous in your work.
• The ability to develop, articulate and execute the strategy for surety line;
• A capacity for dialogue with the entities concerned, and the ability to play a role in leading regional and local teams
• Good command of French and English, Spanish being a plus.
