Senior Accountant - Climate Lead

What you’ll be doing

In this 12-month maternity cover contract, as our Senior Accountant – Climate Lead you’ll ensure Meridian meets its climate and sustainability reporting requirements by managing, integrating, monitoring and delivering the reporting, in an efficient and effective way, balancing high quality output and minimising the reporting burden for our people.

In this role, you’ll lead the preparation of the annual climate and greenhouse gas (GHG) statements that discloses information about the effect of climate change and on our business and how we are responding.

Other accountabilities include:

• Preparing climate statements in accordance with climate standards issued by the XRB.
• Managing the preparation of annual GHG inventory report and any other external GHG reporting, as required.
• Working closely with our external auditors to obtain independent assurance in relation to greenhouse gas emissions and any other assurance required for our climate statements.
• Managing internal GHG reporting as part of Meridian’s emissions reductions action plan, and related initiatives, including monthly travel reporting and calculation of the internal emissions price.
