Smartly has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Marketing Science focussed Data Scientist to join our growing Performance team in EMEA.

We are looking for a customer-facing data scientist who enjoys analyzing sophisticated systems and can communicate findings to customers and partners clearly and concisely. Your role is crucial in making sure we can systematically improve optimization across our customers!

You will work with our distributed team of customer-facing data scientists based in our offices in Helsinki, New York, and San Francisco. In this role you will analyze, validate, and test standard methodologies in paid social advertising. You will be working closely together with both product development and commercial colleagues.

As a Marketing Science Data Scientist you will...

  • Perform quantitative research to support sales and marketing proof points
  • Drive thought leadership in the areas of optimization, testing, attribution and market insights within the Smartly organization and across the customer base
  • Perform performance meta analyses, vertical research, and playbooks based on scientifically sound analytics
  • Serve as the day-to-day trusted measurement consultant for key strategic advertisers by analyzing customersโ€™ performance marketing data and develop methods to determine what works and, more meaningfully, why it works
  • Lead customer communication on Smarlty.io optimization features, and A/B and incrementality testing, and sophisticated research results to a general audience
  • Drive customer adoption of best standards, measurement methodologies, and products

What we are looking for...

  • 5+ years experience in marketing measurement, analytics, growth marketing, or a related field
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured data-sets in Python and SQL
  • Master's Degree in Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field or similar knowledge
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills as well as familiarity with large data sets and data manipulation tools
  • Ability and willingness to become an expert in digital performance marketing
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, collaborating with technical and non-technical collaborators in a customer-facing role
  • Ability to work from our Berlin or Helsinki office at least 2 days a week (hybrid)
