- Engineering and execution of the Distributed Control System (DCS) and other Control Systems for Energy from Waste (EfW) and Renewable Gas (RG) plants
- Cable engineering for Energy from Waste (EfW) and Renewable Gas (RG) plants
- Preparation of the technical specifications for components and systems, technical evaluation of bids and joint selection of suppliers
- Responsible for timely ordering of his systems
- Supervision of suppliers throughout the whole project implementation phase (kick of meeting, project status meetings, review of supplier documentation, etc)
- Preparation and review of control system hardware design documents (cabinet layout drawings, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, termination drawings)
- Engineering and selection of field instruments (pressure, temperature, level, flow, analyzers, etc) for Energy from Waste (EfW) and Renewable Gas (RG) plants, including preparation of hook-up drawings
- Participation in Factory Acceptance Testing of different control systems
- Responsible for completeness of the CAE lists related to his products (signal exchange lists, I/O lists, etc)
- Supporting Engineering manager EIC in preparation and defending of claims
- Interface coordination and collaboration with other project team members and package unit suppliers
- Support of tendering and commissioning team
- Assist Manager in a development and implementation of a department strategy
- Support Manager in a development and documentation of efficient work processes, lesson learned and implementation of improvement practices in future projects
- Support other Automation Engineers in resolving DCS related technical matters
- Coaching and Training of entry level members and other Automation Engineers
- Reviewing technical specifications and RfQ documentation to ensure accuracy, conformance with codes and client specifications
- Participation in project risk assessments (HAZOP, SIL assessment, Cyber Security Risk Assessment)
- Lead design review meetings with customers and suppliers
- Willingness to travel approx. 10%
Requirements
- Several years of experience in engineering of Control Systems, preferably in power plant applications
- Good knowledge of various bus communication protocols (Profibus, Profinet, ModbusTCP, IEC104, OPC)
- Good knowledge of field instrumentation and measuring principles for pressure, temperature, level and flow
- Functional Safety Engineer certificate is an advantage
- Cyber Security Engineer certificate is an advantage
- Proactive and solution-oriented approach, ability to make decisions
- Ability to work under stress
- Fluency in English, German and other languages are an advantage
- Commissioning and operational experience is an advantage
- Experience with design of instruments and cables in ATEX environment is an advantage
Competence in working methods
- Good MS Office user knowledge
- Knowledge of CAE Tools (Comos, etc)
- High degree of understanding of quality assurance
- Knowledge of Electrical engineering tools (EPLAN, Siemens SIMARIS will be an advantage)
- Project Management knowledge is an advantage
