Job Summary

As part of the Extreme Networks Quality Engineering team, this talented and highly motivated Senior QA Test Engineer will participate in testing of leading-edge Wi-Fi products and solutions, with a focus on supporting customer deployments. The Senior QA Test Engineer will play important role in the reproduction and resolution of customer escalation issues, including developing required test beds and the automation of escalations.

What you will do

• Investigate and reproduce customer escalations in-house
• Collaborating with product development and test teams to investigate and resolve problem reports
• Develop and support automation of CFD scenarios
• Monitor, execute, and publish test results.
• Ensure Quality delivery of assigned tasks, according to the processes specified for product test and solution test.
• Document test results, filing defect reports and change requests.
• Review product documentation and functional specifications, creating and updating test strategies

Qualifications

• 5+ years in QA or systems engineering, with solid experience in troubleshooting network issues
• Strong working experience and a good understanding of networking technologies and concepts, OSI Model, TCP/IP, LAN switching, IP routing and Ethernet networks
• Solid understanding of LAN/WAN and network protocols and wireless troubleshooting tools (Wireshark) for quick issue resolutions
• Good understanding of Operating system concepts (Unix/Linux and Windows) and network applications, including services as such DHCP, DNS, SSH, RADIUS, LDAP, IPSec, CA
• Proficiency in Python an asset.
• Strong knowledge of Linux
• Experience with setting up and testing using virtual machines, ESXI/Hyper-V/KVM as VM
• Exposure to REST API automation a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiar with Agile development and testing processes
• Education: BS in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.

LOCATION: Ontario, Canada location: position is based at our Thornhill site in Toronto, and not budgeted for relocation. Qualified local candidates (and those planning to move to the area) are encouraged to apply.
