Tax Accountant

Our Kiwi.com Accounting team is responsible for maintaining bookkeeping journals for the whole Kiwi.com Group (IFRS book and local GAAP books). Our team is also responsible for communicating with state bodies and external audit and consultancy services providers.

As an Accountant, you will support our Accounting and Tax team to ensure accounting and tax compliance. You will need to ensure that all work is done in a timely manner and to a high standard.

What you will do

• On a daily basis, you will book incoming invoices and communicate with vendors, our Procurement team and the internal approvers of invoices.
• You’ll calculate, prepare, and book month-end closing entries.
• You'll support internal controlling activities and improvement of accounting processes.
• You will prepare monthly account reconciliations for assigned groups of accounts.
• You will support the preparation of VAT reports across Europe and corporate income tax returns.
• You will contribute to our transfer pricing projects.
• You will play an active role in our audit and consolidation processes.

What you will need

• Your previous work experience in the area of accounting, audit, reporting, or tax.
• A university degree in economics, preferably in a finance stream.
• Your solid knowledge of CZ GAAP and CZ tax legislation. Knowledge of IFRS is an advantage.
• Fluency in English and Czech/Slovak and clear and effective communication skills.
• Your proven knowledge and usage of MS Office, especially Excel.
• Your analytical skills and detail-oriented approach.
• You are curious and have a desire to improve processes and try different ways of solving problems.
• You can self-organise, delivering work to deadlines and to a high standard. You are comfortable working autonomously and delivering on shared team goals.
