Our digital platform delivers scalable and verifiable sexual reproductive health services for young people in 5 main markets in Sub Saharan Africa - Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, South Africa and Burkina Faso. We work together with local communities and use nudges like reminders, discounts, and reward points to encourage our users to access and use sexual and reproductive health services. We also support our users in becoming micro-entrepreneurs and adding value to their economies.

We are open to remote work for this position and will happily accept applicants from anywhere in South Africa and Portugal.

The Job

The Salesforce Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solutions within the Salesforce platform, ensuring that our Salesforce-based applications and integrations meet the highest standards of functionality and reliability.

Responsibility areas:

  • Customization and Development: You will design and develop custom solutions on the Salesforce platform, including custom objects, workflows, triggers, and Apex code. Your work ensures that the platform meets business needs efficiently and effectively.
  • Integration: You will integrate Salesforce with other systems and platforms, using APIs and other integration tools. This involves ensuring seamless data flow and functionality between Salesforce and other business-critical systems.
  • 3rd line support: This includes resolving complex issues, optimizing user workflows, and enhancing the overall user experience.
  • Agile Practices: Our team works in an agile manner, and you will be part of the rituals and practices, always seeking improvements. You will participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to ensure continuous improvement and collaboration.
  • Documentation: You document your development work, ensuring that it is clear and understandable for future use by others. This includes maintaining accurate and comprehensive records of configurations, customizations, and integrations.
  • Quality Assurance: You are responsible for ensuring the quality of your code and configurations through rigorous testing, including unit tests and system tests. You will identify and fix bugs, ensuring that all solutions are robust and reliable.
  • Continuous Improvement: You stay informed about new developments in the Salesforce ecosystem and continuously seek opportunities to improve our Salesforce environment. This includes participating in professional development activities and applying new knowledge to your work.

About you

You are a proactive individual who takes initiative and thrives in collaborative environments. You are adept at problem-solving and eager to stay updated with the latest Salesforce developments.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of professional experience working as a Salesforce Developer
  • Proven experience with Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Components, and Salesforce APIs
  • Experience in designing and implementing Salesforce customizations, including custom objects, workflows, triggers, and validation rules
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce integration tools and techniques, including Event-Driven Architecture as the primary method, REST as secondary, and basic familiarity with SOAP.
  • Experience with Salesforce configuration, including user roles, profiles, and security settings
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects and responsibilities
  • Excellent communication skills, able to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Based in Portugal or South Africa (mandatory)
  • Fluent in English

The rewards

At Tiko we believe in being open, also when it comes to salaries. The gross monthly salary bracket for this position is €2,592 - €3,888 in Portugal, R59,204 - R88,806 in South Africa, plus benefits. We will offer you a salary in this bracket depending on your level of experience and how it relates to your future colleagues.
