This position will play a critical role in developing a custom Kafka connector to support the high volume of data generated by an IoT platform.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain a custom Kafka connector in Java to handle high-volume data streams from our IoT platform.

Ensure efficient and reliable data ingestion into Kafka.

Collaborate with data engineers and DevOps teams to integrate the Kafka connector with existing data infrastructure.

Optimize the connector for performance, scalability, and reliability.

Implement robust error handling and data validation mechanisms.

Document the design, implementation, and usage of the Kafka connector.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data ingestion and processing.

Stay updated with the latest developments in Kafka, IoT, and data processing technologies.

Requirements:

Excellent English communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking).

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Java development.

Proven experience with Apache Kafka, including custom connector development.

Strong understanding of IoT platforms and the data they generate.

Proficiency in handling high-volume, real-time data streams.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice to Have:

Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools.

Experience with other messaging and streaming platforms like RabbitMQ or Apache Pulsar.

Knowledge of data security and compliance standards.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
