Engineer (UMS)

Reporting to the Master, we are recruiting an Engineer who will have overall responsibility for maintenance and repair of all machinery and electrical equipment (deck and engine) onboard the liveaboard vessel. For vessel information follow the link SMIT Spey.

Your Main Tasks:

• Ensure safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all propulsion, auxiliary and deck machinery, electrical appliances, air conditioning, domestic installations, fittings and structures, RIB and deck crane.
• Consult at least daily with the Master to achieve the maximum economy consistent with the minimum efficiency required. Keeping the Master fully informed of any occurrences in the engine room or deck equipment which might affect navigation or the essential services under his or her control.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant Oil and Environmental Pollution Prevention Legislation and to ensure that all responsible crew are familiar with Emergency Procedures, Contingency Plans and capable of operating all Safety and Pollution Prevention equipment and appliances.
