ABOUT THE JOB

This role will support Solar Innovations' facility in Pine Grove, PA. Associates will be assigned to a primary department (Fenestration, Finishing, Packaging & Shipping, Warehousing, and/or Plant Operations), while also being cross trained to perform entry level support functions throughout manufacturing, as workload deems appropriate. This position opening will primarily support the Company’s onsite Warehouses, with an opportunity to cross-train in other areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform support functions in various departments, which may include some or all of the following:
    • Assist other team members with physically moving/carrying materials from one location to another
    • Operate mobile equipment to transport materials as directed
    • Utilize hand tools to assemble small component made-to-stock parts (ex. hinges), while meeting or beating established production quotas
    • Prep rails by attaching all gaskets, basic hardware, and setting blocks to the rail for the assembly process
    • Pull materials for small part assembly and ensure physical inventory records are maintained
    • Wrap accessories, as needed, for the Packing Department
    • Prep parts for the dip tank
    • Remove bars from the dip tank following its cycle and hang bars on racks for the drying process
    • Move parts and extrusions in and out of the ovens
    • Support the Warehousing Team to pull inventory, as needed, according to the production schedule
    • Perform physical counts of inventory on hand
    • Perform inspections, as needed, to ensure quality parts; immediately report damaged or scratched materials
    • Assemble standard folding glass walls and sliding glass doors, in alignment with the production schedule
    • Visually check parts and/or glass for scratches, dings, and dents prior to assembly
    • Assist with housekeeping, organization, and continuous improvement projects as assigned
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50lbs on a frequent basis
  • Previous experience with hand tools
  • Ability to complete basic mathematical calculations
  • Ability to read a tape measure

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1 – 2 Years of experience in a related position, preferably in carpentry, construction, and/or manufacturing
  • Ability to meet and maintain certification requirements to operate various types powered industrial trucks (ex. forklift, aerial lift, scissor lift, etc.)
  • Experience with reading shop drawings
  • General computer skills
