The Competitive Intelligence Team – provides advertising intelligence that yields insights resulting in a marketplace advantage for a major client. Our goal is to leverage data to provide actionable insights that inform strategy, investment, and the clients.

Individual

The role of the Competitive Intelligence Analyst is to assist and grow in assessing strategic needs and client concerns; providing actionable solutions, managing vendor resources, and completing competitive research initiatives to help gauge the marketplace. The ideal candidate will be innovative, go-getter, detail-oriented, and have a knack for storytelling through extensive data. The Analyst will report directly to a Competitive Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing detailed and insightful reports for both clients and internal teams, ensuring data is accurate and actionable for the audience.
  • Monitor trends, marketplace shifts, and competitive behavior in a diverse, fast-paced category, providing real-time updates to the team.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of our company and client processes, applying this knowledge regularly when utilizing custom and syndicated research.
  • Collaborate effectively with the team as well as work independently, demonstrating a self-starter attitude.

  • Passionate about data, analytics, strategy, media, technology, etc.
  • Ability to contextualize business performance and tell a compelling story through data.
  • Capability to communicate complex data concepts using data visualization to diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in writing at various levels and visualizing data trends and stories
  • General understanding of marketplace media trends and media planning.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in media, research, planning, analytics, or account management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; openness to learning new software.
  • Experience with data mining and visualization, with the ability to develop formal presentations for leadership.
  • Telecom experience not necessary but a plus.
  • Familiar with Vivvix (formerly Kantar), Pathmatics, Media Monitors, ComScore, Google Analytics, or Nielsen data - a plus.
