Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Hematology/Oncology

Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for either a motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work with our Hematology/Oncology team. This position will be a mix of both outpatient (75%) and inpatient (25%). This Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will be conducting outpatient visits, chemotherapy education visits, survivorship care plans. Additionally, this APP will see patients independent of physician (no shared schedules), and assists with infusion supervision and inpatient rounding.

Schedule: Monday - Friday

• no nights/weekends/holidays
• no call

Essential Functions:

• Demonstrates clinical expertise and expanded knowledge through patient care activities which may include diagnosis and management of a wide range of health problems.
• Responsible for health outcome of an assigned patient population.
• Confers with collaborating physician and other health professionals in area of clinical expertise.
• Develops appropriate educational systems for patients, families and staff in areas of expertise.
• Mentors graduate students in aspects of advanced practice and patient care.
