The Opportunity:
The Barbie IMC Team is looking for an experienced mid-to-senior level Lead Designer (Art Director) with a passion for video production for social and TikTok, as well as branding and graphic design across multiple

Touchpoints including retail, live events, and more.

Highly driven to art direct and lead a variety of productions including creative concept development and strategy, pre-production planning, casting, creative and storyboard development, on-set art direction for photo and video – both in-studio and on-location, post-production creative direction for editing, music, script and post copy, photography, graphics and creative asset deployment. Capable of leading, collaborating, and art directing internal and external partners.

Additionally, can create elevated, compelling, thoughtful storytelling through graphic design, typography, and visual development. Able to create visuals that align to marketing strategy and business objectives, and drive excitement for global campaigns. Must demonstrate a proven track record in video production, developing strategically driven ideas and creative layouts and assets, with a strong understanding of social best practices, graphic design, typography, as well as a passion for what we do every day – inspiring the limitless possibilities for generations to come!

What Your Impact Will Be: ​​​​​​​

  • On-set production and art direction, delivering best-in-class concepts, direction and assets from pre-production to post
  • Creating engaging and effective paid social campaign creative from ideation through delivery
  • Vision for video and photoshoots is a must. Ideate and oversee content from concept through final delivery.
  • Work in tandem with our marketing team to grasp the campaign's vision and objectives,
    translating them into creative design solutions.
  • Understand and apply stop-scroll techniques within designs to maximize user engagement and campaign performance.
  • Proven experience in creating social media ads, particularly for Facebook and Instagram.
  • Understanding of e-commerce business challenges and how to address them through impactful,
    eye-catching design.
  • Strong understanding of TikTok, social and video best practices and design principles
  • Knowledge and fluency on TikTok and social platforms, a passion for what’s happening in culture
  • Lead the conceptualization and development of big ideas that are on-brand, on trend and can translate across multiple marketing communications
  • Prioritize multiple projects at any given time and efficiently deliver on time
  • Lead and create visuals across multiple activations including video, digital, social, print, and environmental.
  • Art Direct and lead creative resources inside and outside the company
  • Excellent and persuasive presentation skills to gain buy-in from key stakeholders across the organization is required
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple projects at any given time, and efficiently deliver on time especially given real-time, responsive nature of social landscape
  • Collaborate and partner with team of social strategists, community managers, copywriters,
    producers, marketing partners, and fellow designers in a positive and productive manner
  • Maintain ownership of work from concept through final delivery while appropriately
    communicating with supervisor to ensure alignment
  • Must have a love of culture, fashion, and brand storytelling

Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

  • On-set production experience, delivering best-in-class concepts, art direction and assets from pre-production to post
  • Strong Social and digital first experience required to create compelling, breakthrough assets with
  • Graphic design and an emphasis on motion graphics and light editing
  • Excellent computer skills: Adobe Suite, and all relevant software tied to graphic design, and content creation
  • Demonstrate ability to translate core branding equities and tone through a variety marketing activations
  • Versed and on-top of current trends (art, pop culture, design & typography, advertising, social media, digital, entertainment, etc.)
  • Tapped into global youth-oriented design, marketing campaigns and trends
  • Ability to see large picture while not losing focus of details
  • Openness to learn from other and courage to inspire and others
  • Ability to mentor and train new designers

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • 7+ years minimum in Art Direction, Graphic Design or similar field
  • TikTok and Social experience required
  • Branding, graphic design experience required
  • Design Firm/Agency Experience as Art Director strongly preferred

**EDUCATION REQUIRED:**BA/BS/BFA in Graphic Design and/or MA/MFA

The annual base salary range for this position is between $94,400.00 and $130,000.00.
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
