We’re continuing to grow and are excited to welcome a Software Engineer to our team. Whether you have formal education or are a dynamic self-starter, we seek someone dedicated to their craft who writes code with pride and professionalism. This is an in-person role (4 days in office, 1 day hybrid) based at our head office in Leicester City Centre, England.

What you’ll do:

• Coding: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Design: Participate in the design and architecture of software solutions.
• Testing: Implement and run tests to ensure code quality.
• Documentation: Document code, processes, and designs clearly and comprehensively.
• Maintenance: Maintain and update existing software applications.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other developers, designers, and product managers to deliver high-quality software.
• Learning: Continuously learn and stay updated with new technologies and industry trends.
• Problem-Solving: Tackle and solve moderately complex problems and provide solutions.

What you’ll need:

• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency with React, Redux, AngularJS with TypeScript, Node.js, Webpack, and PHP web frameworks.
• Strong understanding of front-end technologies, accessibility, security compliance, and object-oriented PHP programming.
• Knowledge of common PHP/web server exploits and their solutions.
• Understanding scalable application design, user authentication/authorization, and multiple data sources/databases.
• Familiarity with PHP limitations and workarounds.
• Experience with version control (GIT)
• Professional Experience:
• Minimum 4 years of software development experience.
• Professional PHP coding in a production environment.
• Expertise in modern browser technologies, cross-browser compatibility, and client-side performance.
• Agile project management experience.
• Additional Skills:
• Passionate about quality code, with strong attention to detail and aesthetics.
• Effective multitasking, prioritization, and communication skills.
• Positive attitude with the ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
• Experienced in work estimates, project prioritization, and alignment with Product Management.
• Proven ability to solve ambiguous problems, provide technical direction, and foster team alignment.
• Skilled at balancing trade-offs to deliver effective solutions aligned with long-term goals
• Nice to have:
• Knowledge of ecommerce platforms including Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento architecture.
