The Patient Scheduling & Referral Coordinator will be responsible for managing incoming referrals from hospitals and physicians, scheduling patient appointments, and maintaining positive communication with referring entities. This role requires a detail-oriented, communicative, and proactive individual who can handle multiple tasks efficiently and build strong relationships with referring hospitals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Referral Management:
    • Process and manage incoming referrals from hospitals and physicians.
    • Schedule patient appointments in a timely manner.
    • Confirm and verify appointments with patients and referring entities.
  • Communication:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for referring hospitals and physicians.
    • Maintain positive and professional relationships with referring parties.
    • Communicate effectively with patients regarding their appointments and any necessary follow-up.
  • Support Tasks:
    • Assist with insurance verification and prior authorization as needed.

    • Answer phones, provide information, and address any patient or referral-related inquiries.

    • Utilize technology to track and manage referrals and appointments.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a medical office or clinic environment is a plus & familiarly with "Epic approval".
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in both English and Spanish is required.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

    • Comfortable with technology and various office software applications.

    • Proactive approach to problem-solving and task management.

  • Strong communicator who can handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

  • Capable of working independently as well as part of a team.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
